Young Women In Bio (YWIB) is a nationwide, nonprofit, volunteer organization that encourages young girls to explore opportunities, education, and careers in STEM. YWIB is affiliated with Women In Bio.
Young Women In Bio (YWIB) gives girls the inspiration and support they need to become tomorrow’s leaders in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). As a nonprofit with 13 chapters across the U.S. and Canada, we partner with leading companies, universities, hospitals and organizations to develop engaging, educational and motivational programs. We aspire to be the “go to” organization for girls looking to shape and change the world through STEM, providing them with the tools and resources they need to build successful careers. We exist to ignite the curiosity and fuel the passion in girls, supporting them as they shape and change the world.
Supporting the Next Generation of Female Scientists and Leaders
YWIB creates programs and events geared towards encouraging middle and high school girls to consider the life sciences as a career choice. The events ignite girls’ curiosity in the life sciences while nurturing a business and entrepreneurial spirit.
The National YWIB Committee is comprised of scientists, managers, legal professionals and bioentrepreneurs who all share the passion of inspiring a love of science in girls, and who are committed to increasing the representation of girls in STEM. Presently, the Committee is spearheading initiatives such as collaborative projects with other non-profit organizations and internships, mentorship, and online programs for middle and high school girls.
