WIB is proud to present the Women In Bio Inclusion Grant! WIB will be awarding a $1,000 grant within each chapter. The grant was established to encourage and advance inclusion efforts in our chapter cities. WIB aims to promote equality and champion inclusivity across all of WIB’s initiatives and programming. The micro grant will provide support to help ensure that all of WIB’s activities are a catalyst for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and creating a dynamic and invaluable resource and allyship for the local community.
Candidates must be involved in diversity and inclusion activities for the greater good. Please see our FAQs for more information that will help determine eligibility.
To apply, please complete the application below. For the essay portion, in 500 words or less, please respond to the below questions. (Please write the essay in your choice platform and upload it below.)
What is your definition of inclusion, and why do you think inclusion is important?
What does it mean for you to commit to inclusion, and how have you demonstrated that commitment?
Are there any personal experiences you would like to share around this topic?
Please explain the idea/project you have around improving D&I that the grant funding if awarded, would support?
For the resume portion, please attach a copy of your resume/CV, brochure, and any other relevant information you feel would help the WIB Inclusion committee understand your interest, proclivity, and passion for diversity and inclusion efforts.
Applications are due no later than midnight EST on November 6, 2020. The Inclusion committee in each chapter will review the applications and the selected winner(s) will be notified by December 1, 2020. Winner(s) will be invited as a WIB guest to their respective chapter’s next virtual event to be presented with the awarded grant. Send questions about the application to Grants@womeninbio.org. The awardee will need to submit a brief report with a summary of the outcomes/impact of the project within six (6) months of receiving the award.

Grant funds are not allowed to be used to lobby federal, state, or local officials or influence legislation.
These lobbying restrictions preclude a recipient from spending funds to influence an election, contribute to a partisan organization or influence enactment or modification of any pending federal or state legislation or influence federal, state, or local officials or legislation.
Women In Bio (WIB) is a nonprofit volunteer organization, with 13 chapters nationwide and in Canada, that promotes diversity and inclusion for women in the life sciences and beyond.
