Dear WIB Members and Supporters,
They say time flies when you are having fun… And wow! Is it really almost 2019?
As we know, 2018 has been an incredible year for WIB. We hosted almost 200 events, including every chapter across the country participating in Women’s History Month and a jam-packed BIO. The Boardroom Ready program welcomed its third class and celebrated its 23rd board seat (yes, 23, that is not a typo.) And last, but definitely not least, we were thrilled to have Lisa Iadicicco join our organization as our new Executive Director.
At National WIB, we beefed up our operations to help us keep pace with all our activities. In addition to Lisa Iadicicco, we welcomed Carrie Palsson (Administrative Assistant) and Marsha Morgenstern (Communication and Marketing Coordinator) and elevated Shannon Lachance to become our Operations Coordinator. We are also thrilled to have Anggie Becorest join the board of directors. Anggie is the Head of Operations at Empirico and brings us years of operations, fundraising, and non-profit experience.
I am honored and thankful to be able to work with these women, along with our national committee and chapter leaders. These incredible women are the backbone of this organization. I thank them for the countless hours organizing new initiatives, planning events, engaging members, encouraging sponsors, mentoring and the million other things you do to drive this organization.
I also thank the executive team and our board members. Working closely with Lisa, Rachel, Debra, Shannon and the WIB Board of Directors has been one of the most educational while inspiring, experiences I’ve had. Shannon, Debra and Rachel have been my rocks and I couldn’t have chosen a better team. It has been a journey that no words could describe, though boundary-stretching would be a start. It’s enabled me to learn about myself, leadership and complex organizations in ways that I know will enhance my career. I encourage you to seek similar challenges — preferably inside WIB!
This year has been a whirlwind, and all I can say to all of you is, thank you. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve as the WIB President. I have been so incredibly inspired by every volunteer and member. I am consistently amazed by the women in our organization. The tireless efforts of so many of you are what makes this organization so powerful. We are truly making a lasting impact on not only our careers but on the industry as a whole. Being a part of WIB has not only fueled my professional growth but also provided me with lifelong friends across the country.
As we move into 2019, I am so excited that Jessica Bosc will be joining the National Executive Committee. Jessica, Rachel, Debra, and Lisa will make an incredible team and I am already having FOMO (fear of missing out).
