During this webinar, Maileen Flores (Partner at Richtr Financial Studio and a licensed CPA in California and Colorado) and James Graham (Founder of Richtr Financial Studio) will discuss the stages of a deal and what it takes to close: Stage 1: getting a term sheet, how to tell your financial story and describe the opportunity, stage 2: Closing a deal - mastering due diligence, aspects of a Data Room – tips and resources, key issues seen during due diligence, and some “War stories”. Every attendee will receive a due diligence worksheet.
Maileen is a Partner at Richtr Financial Studio and is a licensed CPA in California and Colorado. Though her work, as a fractional CFO and accounting expert, she helps emerging growth life science companies better position for capital and prepare for due diligence.
Richtr is a national firm with offices in Boulder/Denver, San Diego, and San Francisco.--serving clients throughout the U.S. and Internationally. Their team specializes in working with Seed through Series C tech & life science companies.
Richtr focuses on helping companies plan and navigate their growth to reach planned milestones, through their Fractional CFO and Accounting Services, which are tailored for companies that are working towards future financings, scale-up and commercialization.
Richtr Financial Studio is a BIOCOM member company and Maileen serves on the BIOCOM Capital Development Committee. She is also a Native San Diegan with three Boys (ages 7-4-3), and she used to play four instruments: piano, clarinet, guitar, cello.
James is definitely not your typical CPA. In addition to helping guide hundreds of rapid growth innovation-based businesses, he is a serial entrepreneur and investor. He initially worked in public accounting as an auditor in Chicago, and Denver at Deloitte where he leads audit fieldwork on Fortune 500 engagements.
He founded Richtr Financial Studio in 2004 and is also co-founder of Growth Sherpas, a novel blend of VC, accelerator, and innovation hub for seed-stage Tech companies in Colorado. As a board member of “Pledge 1%,” he encourages founders who share a common commitment to their community to give back 1% of their “exit” to a non-profit organization of their choice.
He currently serves on the State of Colorado’s Office of Economic Development & International Trade’s Advanced Industries Bioscience Grant Review committee.
He spent three years traveling and mountaineering throughout the world is an aspiring surfer and has two boys in university.
