Unfortunately, we have to reschedule the event originally planned for November 16th "Improving Your Professional Brand." We are sorry for the change of plans but hope you can make it to the rescheduled event. Please keep an eye out for a later announcement of the new date and time. We hope to see you at the next WIB-Capital Region event!
"Communication is key" is a quote frequently used to describe your relationships, whether it be personal and/or professional. Communication involves more than just the words that you use, it also includes body language, articulation, projection, stage presence, and more. Join Women In Bio-Capital Region on November 16 at Bikram Yoga Works Studio, Mt. Vernon for a "professional branding" workshop lead by two phenomenal speakers on the topic.
Dr. Kristin Backstrom, a business psychologist and leadership advisor at Smart Performance Strategies, Inc., will kick-off the evening with the psychology behind questions such as: why don't women speak up and what is the Imposter Syndrome? She will focus on ways to overcome these common communication challenges, in addition to helping us uncover ways to converse in a more goal-oriented fashion whether at networking events or in the break room at work. After, Stephanie Williams, Artistic Director at Drama Learning Center, will lead us through practical activities and exercises that will focus on articulation, projection, stage presence, diction, and speech in order to deliver effective messages to our audience.
*Please note that we will be in a yoga studio for this month's event; a portion of the event will be sitting on yoga mats followed by some physical activities/movement. We recommend you to wear comfortable clothing and to bring a yoga mat if you have one!
We can't wait to see you there.
