This event will take place at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) on June 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Girls will get a tour of the labs, enjoy a short presentation on the research that occurs at NIEHS, and listen to a panel of young female scientists will share their stories. There will also be time for girls to ask the panel questions.

Girls must wear closed toe shoes!

*Adults and students names must be submitted to security 7 days prior to the event. Visitors 18 or older must bring a photo ID.*

 

Program

2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Walking tour of NIEHS lab areas
2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Presentation on NIEHS environmental research
3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. - Career & Science talks with four young female scientists

 

Speaker Bios 

Michelle Campbell, Cindy Innes, Yvette LeGrande, and Kyla Taylor are all scientists at NIEHS.

Parking Information

* Please tell the guard at the security gate that you’re “Here for a Campus Tour, hosted by John Schelp,”
*After passing through the front gate, you'll approach a traffic circle,
*Go ¾ around the circle and follow the signs towards Bldg 101,
*Take your first left onto South Park Lane (this leads you to our large parking lot),
*Park your vehicle(s) anywhere in the parking lot. Parking is free.
*Follow the paved trail, back under the road, to Building 101 (large office building on the lake)
*Head for large “Main Entrance” letters on outside of building (near two flag poles near right-side end of building),
*Check-in at the Security desk
