YWIB-Capital Region invites you to join us at Emergent BioSolutions for a Lab Tour and Career Q&A. Attendees will tour a bioreactor, talk to members of the Emergent BioSolutions Team, and perform a hands-on activity.
About Emergent BioSolutions: Our mission is to protect and enhance life. We develop, manufacture, and deliver a portfolio of medical countermeasures for biological and chemical threats as well as existing and emerging infectious diseases. Biological agents are naturally occurring toxins or organisms that can results in illness or death to humans, animals, and crops. Exposure to biological pathogens can result from an intentional biological attack, an accidental release of a biological agent, or a natural incident. Chemical agents are non-living toxic products, such as vapors, gases, aerosols, liquids, and solids that can cause serious harm or death to those exposed. Chemical agents can be released accidentally – for example, in a laboratory incident or a pipeline leak – or intentionally. Infectious disease are disorders caused by organisms, specifically caused by pathogens, microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi; the diseases can be spread directly or indirectly, from one person to another.
