Start 2020 off right with a panel of female executives to discuss career transitions and broadening horizons. Kelly Huang, leadership consultant and co-chair of the WIB Boardroom Ready Program, will moderate a discussion on professional growth, challenges, and opportunities.

Speaker Bios

Kelly Huang (Moderator) - Kelly is a senior executive coach, facilitator and expert in leadership transitions. She has over 20 years of teaching, marketing executive, and management consulting experience, with an inclusive coaching style that has led to career transformation insights for leaders. Kelly's coaching clients have benefited from her EQ based approach to build trust with their team and stakeholders. She has also worked with executives and founders to develop their executive presence and improve decision-making. 


 

Karen Possemato (panelist) - Karen is Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Communications for Illumina Inc. In her role, Karen oversees all areas of internal and external communications for the business, including philanthropy and community engagement. Karen has been with Illumina across the trajectory of it’s growth, building up the marketing function, and holding roles as Chief of Staff to the CEO and President, for both Jay Flatley and later Francis de Souza. With nearly three decades in the life sciences/biotechnology industry, Karen has worked for industry-leading life sciences companies such as Qiagen and Invitrogen in commercial roles spanning customer support, product marketing and corporate marketing. An alumni of the University of California, San Diego – Karen believes that the connection between education, industry and the community is essential to innovation.


Cristina Almeida (panelist) - A native of Brazil, Cristina has called San Diego home since 2003. She began her career in 2000 with HSBC Bank in Brazil, while completing her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Cristina finished her degree with an emphasis in Finance in 2001, and then moved to the United States, where she worked at Washington Mutual Bank, Marriott International, and then seven years in the Private Client group at J.P. Morgan Chase Bank. In 2016, Cristina completed her Master of Business Administration with a specialization in International Business, and then joined Wealth Alliance, LLC in 2018. Cristina speaks three languages (English, Portuguese, and Spanish), and is a licensed Notary Public. She earned a management training certificate through Harvard Business Publication Education Program and has been active in Women’s Business Networking groups since 2012.

Angela Huskey, PharmD, CPE (panelist) - A dynamic, cross-functional leader with over 15 years of direct patient care, pharmaceutical and biotech experience, she is accomplished in building and leading medical and clinical affairs teams through change and growth. As Chief Clinical Officer of Millennium Health, Dr. Huskey is responsible for developing Millennium’s evidence-based clinical strategy, implementing programs to help ensure medical necessity and supporting teams through collaborative partnerships with our clinician and health plan partners.
