Thanks to the Speakers of WIB-Atlanta's MAPs-University Groups
The MAPs-University groups at Georgia State University and Emory University have been happy to welcome fantastic speakers to their recent meetings. On Tuesday, February 27, 2015, Suzanne Mertens, an account manager with Affymetrix, spoke with graduate student members at Georgia State University, sharing her own career story and offering many tips and tricks to networking.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, Emory's MAPs-U group met to have an informal discussion with Lieutenant Commander Tamara Henderson of the U.S. Public Health Service who is currently serving as investigator for the Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Henderson shared her own personal career journey from an Emory Ph.D. graduate student in Chemistry to her current position in the federal government, offering lots of personal and practical insights and answering all of our questions!
