Co-hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, the Virginia Biotechnology Association, and the Tech Council of Maryland, Mid-Atlantic Bio brings together senior biotechnology industry leaders, scientists, researchers, academia, policy makers, and venture capitalists for a program featuring prominent keynote speakers, panel discussions on hot bioscience topics, emerging company presentations, and extensive networking opportunities, as well as international programs, a golf tournament and networking and business match-making systems.

New in 2008, company presentations will be offered on two tracks. In addition to our main "Showcase" track, this year we are featuring a separate "Growth Watch" track for emerging companies. Mid-Atlantic Bio will provide a platform for these selected enterprises to share science or technologies of interest to strategic collaborators, other alternative investment and partnering organizations, including the likes of patient advocacy groups in attendance.
Emerging companies interested in presenting are encouraged to submit their company information through the on-line application process, which will be reviewed in a competitive process conducted by industry representatives.

Innovation Corridor
The Mid-Atlantic Bio Innovation Corridor

Corporate and academic entrepreneurs, researchers, faculty members and students from Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia and surrounding areas will present posters that highlight their research.
Around-the-World International Dinner
On Thursday, October 23, at 7:30 p.m., diplomatic guests, senior bioscience leaders, investors, and others will gather for this separately ticketed event welcoming our international colleagues to the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region. The dinner, featuring keynote speaker Featuring PhRMA president Billy Tauzin, is a significant occasion for international networking and, just days before U.S. elections, a timely opportunity to hear Mr. Tauzin's perspectives on public policy issues facing pharmaceutical companies in the national and international realm.
