Denise Bevers is the co-founder and COO of KindredBio. She is an expert in clinical operations, medical affairs, and scientific communications. As co-founder and chief operating officer at KindredBio, she oversees clinical operations, data management, pharmaceutical development (CMC), commercial operations, investor relations, human resources, and IT. KindredBio is a development-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on saving and improving the lives of pets. Its mission is to bring pets the same kinds of safe and effective medicines that human family members enjoy.
Along with KindredBio’s CEO, Denise has raised approximately $150 million in public offering to bring the very best science and medicine to animal companions. KindredBio identifies drugs, biologics, and targets that have been validated in humans and develops animal versions for pets. By leveraging the research and development investment in the existing human pharmaceuticals, KindredBio substantially increase the likelihood of success and decreases the cost and time required to develop breakthrough therapies for animal family members.
Denise previously worked at Elan Pharmaceuticals, Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, Quintiles, and SkyePharma. Most recently, she was President and Founding Partner of SD Scientific, a full-service medical affairs and communications company. Denise has over 25 years of pharmaceutical and research experience and has managed dozens of products and development programs from Phase I through Phase IV. She has also served as a mentor for many women in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, helping them navigate the changing landscape. Denise received her Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Behavior and Evolution from University of California San Diego, Clinical Trials Design and Management certificate from University of California San Diego Extension, and her MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
