The Chicago Chapter of Young Women in Bio invites the Ladies of Virtue and daughters of WIB-Chicago members, to join us for a self-guided tour of the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance on Friday, April 13, 2018. Following a short presentation of the Park, the students will explore the Adaptations Experience inside the park and the Outdoor Gardens. During and after the self-guided tour, attendees will have an opportunity to ask Women In Bio members questions, as well as time to network with girls interested in careers in science.
During the self-guided tour, students will take a fascinating journey through time as they explore how plants have adapted to different environments, investigate convergent evolution in the desert house, discover why carnivorous plants eat insects, and discuss the dynamic differences between plants. Docents will be available for questions and answers during the self-guided tour.
This is a YWIB event that is open to participants in the Ladies of Virtue program and daughters of WIB members.
Please read the YWIB permission forms located here.
