Dr. Eva Garland will lead with a presentation on a variety of grant funding topics of interest to both academics and biotechnology companies. She will discuss how to identify the best agencies and grants to target – including small business innovation grants (SBIR and STTR), government agencies (such as NIH vs DOD), and private funding agencies – as well as how to prepare competitive proposals. Speaker Biographies

Dr. Eva Garland is the founder and CEO of Eva Garland Consulting (EGC). EGC employs over 20 talented grant writing specialists, accountants, and client support specialists who have assisted companies and academic investigators in securing and managing over $100 million in grant funding. Dr. Garland was previously VP of Research and Development for an early stage pharmaceutical company and served on the Chemistry faculty at NC State University. Dr. Garland actively participates as a grant reviewer on NIH study sections, and she has authored a highly successful book, “Winning SBIR/STTR Grants: A Ten Week Plan for Preparing Your NIH Phase I Application.
